Exhibition tours for organised groups

A visit to Wrocław Contemporary Museum is nowhere near the stereotypical tour led by a guide whose monotonous voice and information overload successfully put the listeners into a lethargy.

The tour begins in front of the MWW seat. We discuss how it differs from other, more familiar buildings. Then we look at the artwork on the façade and work out an intriguing riddle. Later we go to level 0, where we visit the smaller, temporary exhibition and Jerzy Ludwiński Archive – a permanent research and exhibition space which combines elements of an exhibition, archive and art repository.

We follow the spiral staircase to level 1 and – surprise! – we end up in the colourful space of Beautiful Tube, an original art space designed by the Swiss duo L/B, which invites to actively explore its interior. We can touch the walls and the ceiling. Moving between colourful cubes, we can sit down for a while and feel the atmosphere of the unusual décor and the feelings triggered by it.

Equipped with new knowledge, we go upstairs to the Self-service Museum – an installation which stimulates creativity by enabling the visitors to freely juggle the visual elements. Here we can feel like an artist working on their newest piece.

With peaking creativity levels, we venture to levels 3 and 4, where the main exhibition is on show. There is no time to drag your feet! We look at the featured works and talk about selected pieces. We build a vocabulary for talking about contemporary art, open up to multiple meanings of the works and look for analogies in everyday life.

On level 5 there is another temporary exhibition and Concept-shapes – a permanent display of Stanisław Dróżdż’s works. This concrete artist worked at the intersection of literature and art by arranging compositions made from letters and typographical symbols. Don’t they look familiar?

The visit ends on levels 6, where there is a café with a terrace offering a stunning panorama of Wrocław.

After exploring the secrets of the shelter, it’s high time to actively play and consolidate the new knowledge and information. The special quest will fire up your imagination in an exciting way. Time start!
