Centre for Artistic Actions 17.05.18 (czwartek), godz. 17.00, wstęp bezpłatny (Thursday), 5.00 PM, free admission

We invite you to this semester’s last meeting of the Centre for Artistic Actions, which will be held in MWW on 17 May at 5 PM.

During the discussion we will focus on the recently opened collective exhibition The Ratcatcher. The meeting will take place in Beautiful Tube and on the 3rd and 4th floors of MWW.

If you are less than 30 years old, study any subject at the University of Fine Arts and Design in Wrocław or art history, cultural studies at the University of Wrocław, and would like to co-create the Wrocław artistic milieu of young artists and theorists, come to the Centre for Artistic Actions.

Our overarching aim is to create a space for permanent discussion about art, build a circle of people involved in cooperation in the domain of contemporary art, exchange ideas on subjects connected with culture, and help the participants to make the first steps on the way to joint curatorial projects.

By taking part in the cyclical meetings at the Centre you will be given an opportunity to actively participate in culture, voice your opinions during open debates with artists, curators and critics, review exhibitions, write original texts and talk about subjects connected not only with contemporary art, but also important social issues. You will also get to know and work with the art collection acquired by Wrocław Contemporary Museum.

If you are not fully satisfied with classes at university and would like to truly participate in artistic discourse, the Centre for Artistic Actions is the right place to be. The main area of focus during the meetings with invited guests and other forms of CAA’s activity will be the Wrocław milieu of artists since the 1960s. We will meet at MWW café to discuss the newest tendencies in current art, react to important social and political subjects, deconstruct the extant art historical notions and broaden academic discourse to include new areas.

To summarise the annual cooperation of theorists and practitioners, we will carry out a joint curatorial project resulting in an installation in public space.

The special offer for students of all subjects includes:
– free admission to all exhibitions (every Thursday)
– free film screenings (on selected Thursdays)
– 10% discount at CAFÉ MUSEUM (on selected products, every Thursday after showing student ID card)
