To Wrocław, to Wrocław 07.10.16–30.10.16 Exhibition Wernisaż: 7.10.16 (piątek), godz. 18.00, poziom 5, wstęp bezpłatny Vernissage: 7.10.16 (Friday), 6:00 PM, 5th floor, free admission

The exhibition held in the Wrocław Contemporary Museum is a Dresden return visit following the April presentation of students from the E. Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, which took place in the Oktogon Gallery in Dresden. The exhibition of the students from Wrocław started the Train to Art project.

This multi-aspect project, initiated and organised by Goerlitzer Kulturservicegesellschaft in collaboration with the E. Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław and the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden, focuses on artistic activities that take place in trains connecting Wrocław and Dresden, and presents diverse artistic styles from Dresden and Wrocław.

In April 2016, 40 Polish students from Wrocław Academy participated in the “To Dresden, to Dresden” exhibition held in the Oktogon Gallery in Dresden, and this time 20 graduates from the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden will visit this year’s European Capital of Culture with their exhibition. It will be the first presentation of Young Dresden Art in Wrocław.

Inspired by the bunker in Strzegomski Square, which is located in the city centre and hosts the Wrocław Contemporary Museum, but also by our joint history, young artists from Dresden will present an exhibition of artistic spaces: central and surface, intimate worlds and out-of-this-world perspectives, urban spaces, spaces of activities and organic spaces. The artists address the problem of space appropriation, destruction and reorganisation in the context of a discussion on architectonic structures of urban spaces; but they also share their reflections on moods in today’s world.

The exhibition features diverse artistic disciplines: painting, drawing, sculpture, video, installation and performance, but also examples of site specific art, created for the Wrocław Contemporary Museum.
