All parents with their children are welcome to join us each Sunday at 1:30 PM. All workshops take one hour and consist of two parts. First, we visit the up-to-date exhibition together and we talk about the works presented there. During the second part of the workshop we take up manual ACTIVITIES that enable everybody to creatively use their awaken sensitivity and imagination.
The workshop will be the last chance to visit the exhibition The Avant-garde Did Not Applaud, which showcases works by artists making up the Recent Art Gallery. They were particularly interested in the possibilities offered by film and photography as mediums. They would often take photographs of themselves. Today, almost everyone has mobile phones with cameras, which will enable us to make artistic self-portraits. We will try to study and document various ways of expressing our identity – for this reason, please bring your favourite outfit and an object of special significance
(e.g. a toy) to the meeting.
14.12.2014 DREAM MACHINE
The in progress exhibition, which features video art, is full of machines and devices: projectors, screens, consoles and loudspeakers. This phenomenon is typical of contemporary art – technology is necessary both to produce and to present the works. It is not just artists who are surrounded by machines, though. From morning till night, we also use phones, computers and different automatic machines. The dark, quiet and mysterious space of the exhibition seems to be asleep. It makes us think whether machines are soon going to dominate our dreams, as is the case in futuristic fantasies. During the workshop, we will reverse the situation and design our own sleeping machinery.
All the workshops are free, but please register via: email@example.com
