Education, Children, Families
workshops take place every sunday at 1:30 PM on the 1st floor. Free admission. Obligatory registration via email before workshops
All parents with their children are welcome to join us each Sunday at 1:30 PM. All workshops take one hour and consist of two parts. First, we visit the up-to-date exhibition together and we talk about the works presented there. During the second part of the workshop we take up manual activities that enable everybody to creatively use their awaken sensitivity and imagination.
1.10.2017 POP UP BOOK
Have you ever dreamt of entering a book? Is it possible for a story written in a book to come out of it? The pop up book is a spatial book that stimulates our imagination. Characters and places come to life so that we feel as if we were in the centre of events. During the workshop we will talk about which stories we would like to tell using moving pictures, and in the practical part we will make our own small spatial publications. The meeting will be held in the “Books for Looking” series.
8.10.2017 TO GROW UP
Workshop revolving around Monika Łopacka’s exhibition “I Don’t Want to Grow Up”.
15.10.2017 FEEL THE PICTURE
By triggering imagination and all the sense we are able to understand and see more. But is it possible to contemplate a picture using just your hand? We will find out during the Sunday workshop by visiting the exhibition of Jarosław Grulkowski’s drawings entitled “Dice, Clouds, Molecules.” This artist models his drawings as though they were sculptures, using his hands just like a sculpture feels the structure of stone, the warmth of wood or the density of clay. In the practical part we are going to make images for touching, which can be understood and felt only by switching off the eyesight.
22.10.2017 THE TASTE OF A CLOUD
What does a cloud taste like? How many teacups can be filled up by a rainfall? Is it possible to contain a storm in a glass of water? Atmospheric phenomena are miracles that can be actually seen. Their extraordinariness and beauty inspires many artists and becomes the subject of their works. What do they mean to you? Be warned: this Sunday, right after visiting the exhibition “Dice, Clouds, Molecules” by Wrocław artist Jarosław Grulkowski, we are going to jump into a tornado of good fun, generate an artistic storm and daydream on cloud nine, which we will produce by ourselves!
29.10.2017 MIXING THE WORLD
Have you ever felt that everything is falling to pieces? Can anything be done with the pieces? Can they be reconnected to create a new quality? During this Sunday Family Workshop we will produce something only to shatter it to pieces and then recreate anew. Inspired by the exhibition “Concrete Wrocław. Works from the Collection of the Zachęta Lower Silesian Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts”, we will create true masterpieces that will rise like a phoenix from the ashes.
All the workshops are free, but please register via: edukacja@muzeumwspolczesne.pl
