All parents with their children are welcome to join us each Sunday at 1:30 PM. All workshops take one hour and consist of two parts. First, we visit the up-to-date exhibition together and we talk about the works presented there. During the second part of the workshop we take up manual activities that enable everybody to creatively use their awaken sensitivity and imagination.

3.12.2017 RICKETY MONUMENTS

What is sculpture and what isn’t? How to tell the difference between an artwork and an everyday object? During the Sunday workshop we are going to explore Olaf Brzeski’s practice. We will pay a visit to the exhibition “Concrete Wrocław” and think about how the surreal visions providing the basis for his sculptures broaden our perception of reality. In the practical part we will build our own portraits-sculptures using wire, floral foam and non-everyday use objects.

10.12.2017 SPIRITS OF THE FOREST

Contemporary art is a kind of therapy for people living in cities. Outside urban settlements the same role is fulfilled by nature, which inspires awe, reverie, relaxes and soothes. The visual richness embedded in wildlife increases our sensitivity to aesthetics while inducing deep relaxation and attention, which may nevertheless be easily lost in the sensory overloaded urban environment. Now a forest has appeared inside the shelter so that you could summon your tutelary spirit that will become alive in the common subconscious as a symbolic manifestation of nature’s power. Enter the forest, listen to its heart and meet its mysterious inhabitants.

17.12.2017 A TRIP AROUND SZCZEPIN

Do you dream of a trip around the world? Which amazing places would you like to reach? The Sunday workshop will be an opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful spots on Earth. While touring the exhibition “Fotografia Monthly 1953–1974” we will think about the power and availability of photography, which enables us to see places that we have been to. In the practical part we will play a game with the space in which we live. We will make collages introducing China, Brazil and the Antarctic to a Szczepin yard.

Information about future workshops to be released soon.
