Education, Children, Families
1.30 PM, 1st floor, free admission, obligatory registration via email before workshops
We invite children from 4 to 11 years old and their parents to visit us on two Sundays of August (12, 26.08) at 1.30 PM.
The workshops last 90 min and consist of two parts. At the beginning we all visit an exhibition that is currently showing at MWW and discuss the featured works. After that we move on to the manual part, which is intended to creatively use the aroused imagination and sensitivity.
Programme of Sunday Family Workshops
– August 2018:
12.08.2018 NATURE=ARCHITECTURE. ARCHITECTURE=NATURE
This time the workshop will be held under the motto of nature and architecture. Inspired by Michał Woroniak’s exhibition entitled Abundance, we will together create a panorama of the city. To build it, we will use crops – the natural riches, while the industrial interiors of the Museum will provide the background. The emerging landscape will be documented on camera so that the irreversibly lost effects of artistic work will stay in our memory for a long time. The workshop, including a visit to the exhibition, will be conducted by Natalia Gołubowska.
26.08.2018 IS AN ARTIST A MAGICIAN?
The workshop will be inspired by magical practices and mysterious artworks that can be found in the exhibition titled What-Is-Not. We will pay special attention to Paweł Baśnik’s works, which are based on the tradition of attributing magical properties – especially the power to heal – to some plants. What is Turritopsis nutricula or Rhus typhina? These are some of the secrets that we will attempt to solve during the practical part by making dream-catchers inspired by the magical properties of nature. The workshop, including a visit to the exhibition, will be conducted by Justyna Oleksy.
