CANCELLED / Personal collection #2. Sensory integration workshop
Education, Wihout barriers
(Wednesday), 6.00–8.00 PM, admission free
Keywords: adults / touch / material / emotions / Olaf Brzeski
A steel cylinder with a diameter of 26 cm and a height of 187 cm constitutes Olaf Brzeski’s work At Heart. The minimalist yet monumental and harsh form hides a heart sculpted by the artist. As he put it, “if the heart is at stake – nothing else matters.”
The next sensory workshop will be an opportunity to examine our emotions – both those easily accessible and those more hidden. During the meeting, we will also experience the material dimension of this unique sculpture in various ways: its texture, weight or temperature, trying to recall the intense process of struggling with the material that the artist himself must have felt.
Sensory integration workshops are a cycle that makes it possible to experience contemporary art through sound, touch and other non-visual senses.
In connection with the permanent exhibition Private Mythologies. Marta’s Birthday, which features works from the MWW international collection of contemporary art, we have planned a series of meetings dedicated to the material dimension of the works as well as the sound and spatial aspect of the exhibition itself. We will create a personal sensory collection through an in-depth analysis of selected works.
Led by: Anna Krukowska and Małgorzata Rzerzycha-Myśliwy.
People with visual impairments are particularly welcome.
