Personal Narratives. Psychoanalytical conversations about Anna Kutera’s work “On Fire and Concrete”

Personal Narratives is a series of psychoanalytical meetings devoted to selected works featured at the exhibition entitled Private Mythologies. Marta’s Birthday. We are going to discover the potential of art together with psychotherapists from the Lower Silesian-Opole Branch of the Polish Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, which will enable us to search for an individual sense of meaning and purposefulness in the current socio-political context.

We will start the series by talking about Anna Kutera’s photographic installation titled On Fire and Concrete (1977). The first meeting will be a workshop. We would like to invite you to share your thoughts and emotions that art evokes in you. The workshop and the conversation with the artist will be conducted by Jacek Mądry – a certified psychotherapist, member of the Polish Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and a candidate of the Polish Psychoanalytical Society.
 
 
The activity is part of the Open Collection programme.
 
 
The exhibition entitled Private Mythologies. Marta’s Birthday has been co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The purchase of works was co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund under the National Contemporary Art Collections programme.
