Take shelter! Summer at MWW

Fed up with the heat? Too many people on the beach? Too many hikers in the mountains? The city is hot and crowded? Take shelter at MWW! All children are welcome to come to Wrocław Contemporary Museum in the last week of the summer holiday, where they will be able to shelter from the sun and the city, but not from good fun and lots of creative ideas. We will combine spatial planning, design, different means of expression, the children’s creativity and our seat to end the holidays on a high note.

The central theme of this year’s cycle refers to MWW’s seat, which is an air-raid shelter that used to protect people and now protects artworks. The shelter may seem mysterious and magical, and its thick walls soothe the mind. During the summer workshops, the children will have a chance to get to know the building and learn about its past and present functions. They will be encouraged to explore our temporary seat and enter into a dialogue with what it hides.   The cycle of summer activities is aimed at 7 to 12-year-olds. We have prepared a number of games, tasks and manual activities that will make the children more sensitive to visual and auditory stimuli. The meetings will also provide them with an inspiration to do original visual and auditory experiments, to interpret art in a creative way, and to use art in their own works. We will also discover the Self-service Museum and pay a visit to the exhibitions currently on display at MWW.

The workshops are intended for children from 7 to 12 years of age.

The workshops will take place from Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. A family picnic will be organised on Saturday at 11 AM.   The cost of participation is 400 zlotys (price inclusive of meals)
