WORKSHOPS FOR SCHOOLS – AUTUMN

Education, Schools and preschools

We invite organized school groups to participate in workshop meetings with modern art. The autumn cycle of meetings will last from September the 17th to December the 10th, it will include 12 meetings on which we will focus on three separate problems.

INFINTY OF LINE – dates: 17.09, 24.09, 1.10 and 8.10

HARMONY OF DIVERSITY – dates: 15.10, 22.10, 5.11 and 12.11

IS OR IS NOT – dates: 19.11, 26.11, 3.12 and 10.12

Each workshop is preceded by an illustrated presentation of contemporary artworks chosen from a collection of The Lower Silesian Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts that relate to a discussed subject. We define the workshop subjects and, through a creative practice, we learn about their origins. Then we question the aim of our creation, but we do not lose the freedom of movements and imagination. In effect individual works are created and they present the differences in personalities of the participants. Finally, we confront the results of this creative game and we consider the artistic significance of the created works.

INFINITY OF LINE is a post-holidays workshop dedicated to one of the basic means of expression in visual arts. Line is the first trace we leave when we build visual expression. During the workshops, using non-standard techniques, we will create visual compositions using diversity of this trace. We will observe how different expressions we can employ when we use so simple means, diversifying them by giving it appropriate thickness, softness and waviness. As inspiration we will use works of modern art and observations of the world around us, which is a visual ravel, harmony and correlation of multiple lines.

HARMONY OF DIVERSITY is a cycle of workshops dedicated to the problem of composition. We will investigate how the understanding and rules of composition making have been changing over centuries, depending on the artists consciousness development and accessibility of new media. We will see the rules that artists follow in their work and we will try to learn about the secrets of perfect composition. We will also look at reality through diversity of phenomena that form harmonic entirety, or contrarily – the chaos that proceeds from unordered elements of the sense world.

IS OR IS NOT is a cycle of workshops that introduce the participants into the world of visual polysemy, play with reality that is accompanied by the rules that rein our senses. We will think when imagination plays jokes on us cooperating with properties of our perceptual receptors, and when it broadens the horizon of looking at reality and experiencing life. Thanks to our own experience, we will observe why illusion as a means of message fascinates artists and what goals they achieve thanks to it. We will cull from the world of senses, impressions and imagination.
