One of five unique cardboard furniture designs, which have been prepared and made by students of Wrocław University of Technology without glue or nails, is standing in the space near the lift on the ground floor of MWW.

“Cardboard:ception” is a multifunctional bookcase which simultaneously serves as a place where poufs are stored. The piece was created during the second edition of Summer Architecture School, which is held at Wrocław University of Technology.

The workshop was attended by 25 students, who worked under the supervision of Dr Marcel Bilow of Delft University of Technology and Jerzy Łątka of the Department of Architecture of Wrocław University of Technology. Łątka has been ranked among the ten best Polish innovators under 35 by the prestigious magazine “MIT Technology Review”.

The motto of this year’s edition of the workshop was “humanized workspace”. All the designed furniture – environmentally-friendly, strong and durable – can be used in offices or universities. The innovative solutions provide space for working and relaxing at the same time.
