The starting point for the lecture will be two works presented in the exhibition Meditations of Fibonacci + The Corduroy bunny | facing Katarzyna Kobro (1898–1951) – the installation About Katarzyna and Bunny / Rabbit – Re-enactment of the Toy.
During the meeting, Aurelia Mandziuk-Zajączkowska will acquaint the audience with the process of making the works and the contexts in which they appear. After that, Kobro’s Bunny will be approached as inspiration and the starting point for Alicja Kujawska’s narrative on soft sculpture, the softies, punk DIY, makers and the Art and Feminism movement.
Dr Alicja Kujawska is a cultural anthropologist, lecturer, initiator and co-organiser of academic conferences.
Dr Aurelia Mandziuk-Zajączkowska is an artist, exhibition curator and professor at the Academy of Art in Szczecin. She established the PATIO Arts Centre in Łódź, which she later managed for many years. A co-founder of the Art and Documentation Association and Frakcja artist group.
