We will plunge into the depths. We will calm our breath, thoughts, and bodies. We will listen to the sound and light landscapes created together. We will use percussion instruments, voice, ocean sound sampling, and flashlights. We will work with techniques of improvisation, experimentation, and deep listening. We will feel a bit like great marine mammals who communicate using echolocation—sounds that help us determine what is around us. As Alexis Pauline Gumbs writes in "Unsinkable," these are sounds that bounce off the body and surrounding structures and environments, even those invisible. These are sounds that place me in constant relationship with you, whoever you are at this moment.
